Welcome to Nailed Daily the blog where it all started! Back in 2011 I had this crazy idea of starting this nail art blog where I would complete 365 nail designs in one year. On Nov 30th 2012 I completed the challenge, it was a huge struggle to commit to but I am glad I did it because it pushed me so much further with my nail art. Shortly after completing my challenge I quit blogging I swore I would never blog again, but here I am back at it 5 years later with much more knowledge, way better photography skills and exciting new nail adventures to talk about. I hope to use this blog to inspire other professional nail techs, I want to share my experiences as an educator, nail competitor and salon owner. I will also share new nail designs and tutorials. I am excited for this new chapter of my blog, it wont be daily but I promise it will be good stuff! I hope you enjoy the content!

My 5 year update part 1: Educator Life

Here it is, my first post in 5 years. Feels weird to be blogging again but I’m so excited to start!  My new blog is going to be broken up into different categories; Educator Life, Business, Nail Competitions and Nail applications & products. So I have decided that my next 4 posts should be updates on each of those categories. I want you to know what I’ve been up to and also for you to see what direction the blog will be going in. So here it goes...

Educator Life:
One of my last posts in 2013 was announcing that I was going to compete in Nails Magazines Next Top Nail Artist, in that post I sounded quite confident that I would make it through the first round of eliminations, well unfortunately that did not happen I was out in the first round. After being devastated for a few days I decided to reflect on the situation, I asked myself what did I want from that competition? Well it was hosted by Gelish, my favorite product line, if there was anything I would want more from winning the Next Top Nail Artist it would be a job with Gelish , so I decided why not go for it? After searching their website I came across information on becoming an educator for the company. I immediately put together an application with all the required photos and information. A couple months passed and I got the interview, after an exciting and equally nerve racking phone call  I was invited to Brea, California  for educator training. Time flew by and eventually it was time to go, no clue what I was in for I was off to California. The training was intense, we had long days and lots of work, I was stressed out of my mind but I was loving every second of it.  The amount of knowledge and the  improvement in my applications instantly made me a better nail tech. I returned home and waited patiently to find out if I made the cut, March 5th, I got the email, I was now a Bachelor Educator for my favourite nail brand!

The following 4 years have been amazing! Being an educator I get the opportunity to travel and work trade shows, teach classes and I get to meet so many awesome people from students just starting out to seasoned pros. Plus working for the most innovative brand in the industry keeps me up to date with the latest and greatest products and education. Every year we have a recertification training where we learn about the newest products and are tested on our applications for a chance to advance to a higher level of educator. I am currently a Master Educator with the company, an achievement I worked hard for and I am greatly proud of!

With this blog I will share my experiences, behind the scenes of what it’s like to be on an educator and my tips on our products. But most importantly my main goal is to inspire, so if there is a brand that you love, I cannot stress it more, go for it! It is one of the best things I have ever done and I am forever grateful for the opportunities it has given me. With my educator segments I hope it will help inspire those of you who want to teach to go and  chase that dream!
